COLORATURA!

EXHIBITION PROPOSAL & OFFICIAL CALL FOR ARTISTS

“Coloratura!” is a high-energy, salon-style group art exhibition presented by the curatorial collective of the same name. Hosted at the New Hope Art House in New Hope, PA, this event explores rich palettes, striking visual textures, and dramatic compositions. Our curatorial collective intends to establish this showcase as a continuous, recurring milestone for the regional arts community. [1]

Exhibition Framework

  • Host Management: COLORATURA!
  • Venue Location: New Hope Art House, 11 E Bridge St, New Hope, PA 18938 [1]
  • Show Run Dates: September 12 – October 12
  • Display Methodology: Salon-style (stacked, multi-level high-density layout to build collective visual energy).
  • Medium Eligibility: All creative visual mediums are accepted. Artists are encouraged to submit paintings, cartoons, collage art, sculptures, and multi-media works. Get creative!
  • Submission Allowance: Artists may submit up to six (6) total pieces. Displaying fewer than six works is fully acceptable and left entirely to the artist’s personal preference.

Size & Framing Requirements

  • Framing Mandate: All artwork must be framed or professionally finished to be accepted for installation. Loose canvas, raw paper edge, or un-wired frames will be rejected.
  • Dimension Benchmarks: The targeted dimension per piece is 36″ x 36″. Framed profiles are permitted to slightly exceed 36″ x 36″, but artists are strictly advised not to be a “wall hog” with oversized dimensions. The curatorial team reserves the absolute right to limit the total piece count displayed by an individual artist if their footprint crowds the shared layout.

Financial Structure & Receptions

  • Registration Fee: $60.00 flat entry fee per participating artist.
  • Artist Profit: The artist retains 100% of all sales profits. The management and host venue collect 0% commission on artwork sales.
  • Opening Reception: Saturday, September 12 at 6:00 PM. Features live music, food, and drinks.
  • Closing Reception: Monday, October 12 at 6:00 PM. Features live music, food, and drinks.
  • Note: Attendees and participating artists should note that food and drinks require a fee at both reception nights. [2]

ARTIST EXHIBITION CONTRACT & LEGAL AGREEMENT

This binding Agreement is entered into by and between COLORATURA! (hereafter “The Management”) hosting at the New Hope Art House, and the exhibiting artist executing their signature below (hereafter “The Artist”). [1, 3]

1. Registration, Data Submission, & Fees

The Artist must fully complete the official digital registration application prior to delivering any artwork. This form securely collects the Artist’s name, telephone number, email address, specific artwork titles, and retail pricing.

  • The non-refundable entry fee of $60.00 must be finalized before drop-off.
  • Payment Gateway: All submission fees must be routed via Venmo to @Eric-Remer-1.
  • Artwork will be denied entry and installation if registration data or Venmo balances are unverified. [4]

2. Exhibition Duration & Integrity

The show will open on September 12 and close on October 12. The Artist explicitly agrees that all installed artwork must remain on display for the complete month-long duration of the exhibition. No artwork may be removed early from the salon wall, even in the event of a successful sale.

3. Sales Management & Commissions

The Artist retains full autonomy over the retail pricing of their submitted works.

  • COLORATURA! operates on a 0% commission structure; 100% of the sale profit belongs to the Artist.
  • The Management will facilitate the exchange of buyer contact information and coordinate payment details directly with the Artist, or permit the patron to transfer funds to the Artist directly via instant electronic payment.
  • Purchased items must remain hanging to preserve the display layout and can be retrieved by buyers during the designated October pick-up window. [2]

4. Space Management & Curatorial Oversight

While frame dimensions may slightly eclipse the 36″ x 36″ threshold, the Artist agrees to respect the collective layout and avoid dominating disproportionate wall space (“wall hogging”). The curatorial team (Eric Remer, Rachel Hock, Eric Kennedy, Jessica Lowe) retains absolute final authority over spatial curation. They reserve the right to downscale an artist’s final display count to fit the physical constraints of the venue safely.

The Artist assumes all risk and is advised to purchase independent fine art insurance if desired. [1, 5]
